Mission Statement

Getting Started

High School and Post Secondary Education (University or College), achievement depends on strong learning habits, self-confidence, and higher order thinking skills. Coaching these in the formative years leads to greater academic success and life long learning.

Gaps in knowledge are most evident in a child’s development during transition years. That is, the transition from middle school to high school, and again from high school to post-secondary education. The most common subjects are Mathematics, English (writing, comprehension, and written expression), and Science.
Gaps result in a variety of issues such as:
Effect of Gaps left without attention or support:
  • Incomplete homework
  • Feeling lost in class
  • Not being able to follow along
  • Difficulty with complex questions on tests and assignments (application or thinking level)
  • Low grades in the subject area, as well as others areas where the skill sets are transferable
  • Disengagement
  • Low self-confidence
  • Fear/phobia of a subject
  • General loss of academic focus
The sooner gaps are filled and confidence is instilled...the greater the results for long lasting academic success.
We provide the highest quality educational support to our students. Our certified teachers and subject specialists instruct using the principles of Bloom’s Taxonomy of Thinking, and use differentiated learning methods to maximize a child's learning potential.< /div>

Bloom's Taxonomy of Thinking

Prepatorium programs are designed to use a variety of instructional tools and techniques, such as: the use of technology, tactile learning, small group activities, and investigations. Students use their knowledge to move through the higher levels of thinking: application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation.

"Using a variety of learning techniques to suit the needs of individual learners."

We aim to make learning fun!

Using knowledge in new and real world situations
Breaking down information for critical thinking
Putting information together for creative thinking

Knowledge and comprehension are the foundations for learning. Without these components, the higher levels of thinking and learning cannot occur. Knowledge and comprehension compose approximately 25% of assessments (tests and assignments) in school.
Typically where applied/college level course focus their attention. Hands on and tactile learning is also used here to help ground knowledge on a deeper level.
Essential skill sets needed in any academic/enriched/gifted/university level programs.
Greater academic success is achieved in university when students can confidently demonstrate analysis, synthesis, and evaluation with a high degree of effectiveness.
